With two days still to go, New York has delivered some stunning shows so far for SS12. With the attention brought back-to-basics in an attempt to revitalise our retina's; this season is absolutely about colour, colour, and more colour. It is the simple palettes, yet original colour-combinations, that have made this first week so beautiful, and illuminating for fashion admiers' everywhere.
The three shows I am quite simply in love with are:
The gorgeous collection by Jill Stuart with the prettiest pastel's I've ever seen!
The divine DKNY: where just viewing the runway with it's iconic Taxicab poster back-drop makes a girl feel like she's witnessing Carrie Bradshaw herself waltzing down the street in front of her. In monochrome suiting and lipstick pink dresses, that float away like confetti for a New York wedding, the masculine/feminine juxtaposition is fabulous.
And finally the dreamy Diane Von Furstenburg. Oh, just take a look at the utterly charming collection below.
Need I say more?...
What a wonderful start to Spring/Summer. And with the oppressive grey clouds the constant backdrop to the London skyline right now, I for one, cannot wait for SS12 to come rolling around to rescue us with the likes of these.
